Class agenda for every week:

Week 1: Fischer's Masterpieces (May 7th)

In the first week, we will look at the games of Bobby Fischer, a player who is considered by many to be the best chess player of all time. Fischer had to take on the entire Soviet Union alone and had an incredible attacking style. We will study games where he launches amazing attacks and is extremely precise in his calculation.

Week 2: Spassky's Masterpieces (May 14th)

In the second week, we will look at Boris Spassky's games. Spassky was an extremely flexible player that could adapt to any position on the chess board. Also, he loved to make deep calculated sacrifices that left his opponents confused of whether he had just blundered or if it was intentional. We will study many interesting games of this talented world champion.

Week 3: Petrosian's Masterpieces (May 21st)

In the third week, we will look at Tigran Petrosian's games. Petrosian is an extremely strong positional player who understood positions so well that he would make positional sacrifices. Also, he enriched the theme of prophylaxis (when you think of your opponent's intentions) in a time when this type of thinking was severely underestimated. We will study many of his games where his superior understanding of a position allows him to outplay his opponents.

Week 4: Tal's Masterpieces (May 28th)

In the fourth week, we will look at Mikhail Tal's games. Tal was such an amazing attacker that he was nicknamed "the magician from Riga". Often, he made sacrifices that were refutable, but he understood that in a chess game, it is extremely difficult to come up with computer-like defense against his sacrifices. We will look at many of his crazy games where he sacrificed many pieces.
